NEW BLOG, HERE'S WHY

Circo has moved! Here's the link to this blog's new home, and a post is waiting for you there as to why it's moved. However, in case you're seeing this a bit late, I'll copy the text for ya. Now go see my shiny new blog!

As you may have noticed, last month my blog lost all of its images. I finally figured out the cause of this- google hosts blogger images on picasa, and when you sign up for google+ it shows all of your picasa images on your page. This seemed stupid and weird, so I deleted the album. Well, that deleted all the photos from about 160 posts, which is about 800 to 1,000 images, none of which (besides the portfolio images) are backed up on my computer, because seriously, that’s a lot of space.
So In my anger and desire for a fresh start I’ve moved all of August’s posts over here to wordpress, and I’m starting fresh. Along with this change I’m bringing back my 10 posts a month regimen, partly because I cancelled my 365 project, and because I like it.

e adesso?

Well that took about an eighth of the time I thought it would. Guess I'm just waiting on contact cement and rivets now. Yay?

cintura e tatuaggio disegno

I've been wanting to make a utility belt for my most used metalsmithing tools for a long time. I cut out the base pattern earlier in the week- a wide thick belt that sits on the hips- today I drew up a design for some overlay, because it was too boring. Everything in my life is either boring or terrifying right now, so I drew a seriously complex design to cut.

The exacto work's a bit difficult, but I'm improving as I go, and it's certainly keeping me occupied.
I made this pizza and a few ugly rolls the other day, it was pretty darn good even though the crust is a bit strange.
Lastly, an old friend asked me to design another of her tattoos for her, this time an outline of a great horned owl. I hate when people have bits of a branch or something disconnected in a tattoo, so I let him hover. It's a little strange, but much less strange than a chunk of tree if you ask me.

comodino

My woodworking "skills" are entirely based on highschool theatre. This explains the end product of my nightstand building project.

costruzione tavolo è difficile

First, this is a picture of the most delicious lemon meringue pie I have ever made or eaten in all my life. So sweet and fluffy!
Secondly, I built my first table today. The legs are made from wood the previous tenant left here, and the top is a $3 scrap from the local wood working store.
Building tables is physically destructive. even though I didn't bleed on this project, I knelt on the most unpleasant ground treatment while building it, as well as on the legs them selves because as you will see, they're all kinds of twisted. (Also, those office boxes looking shabby in the background are my saw horses.
So maybe I should have moved it for the pictures...
